The Most Important Question

By Evangelist John BJ Hall

If you were to die today do you know where you would spend eternity?

Many people would have you believe that there are many paths to Heaven.
But the Bible says:

Proverbs 16:25 “There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”

There is only one true way to Heaven.

God's Word, The Bible, provides a road map to Heaven.

Let the following Road Signs guide you safely to Heaven's shore.

Romans 3:23   For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Sin is a constant temptation. This caution sign in God's Word is a warning that sin causes us to spin out of control. To "fall short of the glory of God" is to fail to live up to the standards God sets. The Standard is Jesus. Anything that we do, say, or fail to do that doesn't meet that Standard is sin. All of us have sin in our lives. No one is exempt from God's requirements.

Romans 5:8  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

The Yield Ahead sign tells us that we should slow down and yield to Christ who will direct our path and safely steer us around danger. God loves us so much that He sent His One and Only Son to die on the cross so that we might not perish. It was our sin that put Him on the Cross. It was His love for us that kept Him there.

Romans 6:23a For the wages of sin is death,

The first part of this verse is very clear about the consequences of sin. The stop sign is there to keep us from running headlong to our death without forgiveness. There is a Hell to shun. God does not want you to go there. I don't want you to go there. So God provided an alternative.

Romans 6:23b  but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The second part of the verse is about yielding to God through Christ Jesus. He has already paid the price for our sin. He accepted the penalty that we deserved. But just like a gift from someone who loves you, the gift is not yours until you open it and receive it unto yourself.

Romans 10:9-10 ... If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; 10  for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

There is only one way to receive the free gift of God. That way is believing that Jesus is who He said He was. Believing that God did raise him from the dead. If you truly believe that and confess it God will immediately save your soul and give you eternal life.

Romans 10:13   for " WHOEVER WILL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."

God is waiting for you to call on His name. Jesus is a gentleman and will never force Himself on you. He patiently waits for you to come to Him in prayer.

You see, it really is that simple. You call upon Him and He enters into your heart. He will guide you into a new life that is filled with His guidance and love. A simple prayer that you might pray follows.

Lord, I know that I am a sinner. I know that there is nothing I can do to pay for my own sin. I know that you came to earth and lived a sinless life.  I acknowledge that you died on the cross, paying a debt you did not owe. I thank you that you raised from the dead to give me eternal life.  Please come into my heart and make me new. Take my sins and cast them into the deepest sea. I accept you as LORD of my life. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

If you prayed that prayer today and meant it with all your heart you are now my brother or sister in the Lord. Please take the time to call the number below and introduce yourself to me so that I can pray for you and send you free materials that will help you grow in the Lord.

Also please contact a Bible Believing/Teaching church in your area. There are Southern Baptist churches around the world that are ready to encourage and receive you into their fellowship.
