The God Question

By Evangelist John BJ Hall

You may be the wisest man or woman on the face of the earth, but unless you get the God Question right you are foolish. Twice the Psalmist said, Psalm 14:1  and Psalm 53:1 (AMP) “ THE [empty-headed] fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable deeds; there is none that does good or right.”

You will never find out if God is real by taking a poll. And we can never know for sure who Jesus is by taking a poll of the people. Only God can reveal to you who Jesus is and that God is real. Matthew 16:13-17 (NASB) says, “Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He began asking His disciples, saying, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?" 14  And they said, "Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets." 15  He •said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" 16  And Simon Peter answered and said, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God." 17  And Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.”

Unless you get the God Question right you cannot be forgiven of your sins. Unless you get the God Question right you cannot enter into His kingdom. Jesus said, John 14:6  (NASB)  “… I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.

All of creation shouts that truth. Paul said in Romans 1:18-20 (NASB) “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19  because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20  For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

And Creation Worships Him

The water fell gently from rock to rock,
A breeze softly blew as creation started to talk.
Just to the right sang a whippoorwill
While a dove started cooing at the crest of the hill.
There on the left a wise old owl did call,
“Who” is the maker of one and all?
A robin gave answer as she flew to the sky,
And the wind through the willow agreed with a sigh.

The evergreen sways with the cadence of song
That birds sing of a Savior so pure and strong.
Stately old oaks lift bow and limb in praise
And soak up God’s gift of pure golden rays.
O, how can one fail to see and to hear
That God the Father has drawn so near?
He reaches out His hand to share His sweet love
Through the mockingbird laugh and the song of a dove.

The Willow bowed low in worship and awe,
And the squirrel stood so still, like the Lord he saw.
The fragrance of honeysuckle came on the breeze,
As an incense of sacrifice, our God to please.
Sweet clover lay close to the babbling brook,
And drinks of refreshing, like comes from The Book.
Dragonflies danced and water bugs played
And this tired soul bowed his head and prayed.

“We worship Your name, Your creation and I,”
Then deep from within came relief with a sigh.
“Thank You dear Lord for the garden You made.
And thank You still more for the price You paid.
You brought forth redemption on a cross made of wood.
Though not a man watching, really understood.
But, creation bowed its head on that great day,
For it knew that God had passed that way.”
